The only alumina producing site in France
Built in 1893 at the entrance to Gardanne, today the plant offers its huge red colored silhouette to its visitors.
Alumina (aluminium oxide), a powder as white as snow, has been extracted from the red mineral, bauxite, day and night, in a continual flow, since 1956. A pole of skills that exports its know-how all over the world was gradually built up around the production of this mineral compound. |
