Located in the French Alps, the La Bâthie plant (160 employees) began producing the first abrasive products in 1911. La Bâthie is specialized in the production of white fused alumina. The plant is unique in Europe and among the most modern in the world. Classification of high purity micrograins is achieved in a dedicated workshop using the method of water classification. This facility is the largest one in Europe. Bubble Alumina is produced on an airflow, creating spheres of white fused alumina, which are particularly suited for refractory cement. The plant is also equipped for the production of silicon nitrides for refractory applications.
